This is a short talk/session that explores how artificial intelligence is increasingly overlapping with human life - especially in the realm of creativity. From helping us write emails to generating poetry and paintings, AI is starting to inhabit corners of life that once felt deeply personal and soulful.
We’ll look at how creativity is often tied to emotion, memory, and intention - and ask what it really means when a machine starts producing things that feel beautiful or original. If a machine creates something beautiful but doesn’t understand it, is it really beauty? Can creativity exist without consciousness? And is it possible for AI to replicate the essence of what we call the "soul"?
The talk will also unpack how AI mimics creative processes using pattern recognition and algorithms - and whether that’s truly comparable to what humans do when we create or dream.
It’s not a technical talk - more of a reflective, philosophical, and slightly playful exploration of AI, creativity, and meaning. Whether or not machines can truly dream, this talk is about what their creativity reveals about ours. In searching for soul in AI, we may just learn more about what makes us human.
