About this Event
“R. Buckminster Fuller: THE HISTORY (and Mystery) OF THE UNIVERSE” A play by D.W. JACOBS from the life, work and writings of R. B. Fuller, directed by Kira Rutter, and performed by Jon-Michael Rutter returns to the Fuller Dome on the SIUE campus for a special performance. This play takes the audience on an inspiring journey through the life of one of the 20th Centuries greatest visionaries.
“R. Buckminster Fuller: THE HISTORY (and Mystery) OF THE UNIVERSE” will bring you into the unique world view of the man that philosopher Marshall McLuhan called the “the Leonardo da Vinci of our time.” The ideas that Fuller developed to "make the world work, for 100% of humanity, in the shortest possible time, through spontaneous cooperation, without ecological offense or the disadvantage of anyone” are more relevant today than ever before. The life and inspirations behind Fuller's transformative concepts are revealed in this porwerful play performance. Join us in the Fuller Dome on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 as Buckminster Fuller will be brought to life in front of an intimate audience within the miniature earth geodesic dome that he and his architectural partner Shoji Sadao built on the Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville campus in 1971.
