3 hour workshop where participants will learn how to prepare Japanese dishes using a variety of cooking techniques

About this Event

Eager to learn how to impress your loved ones with Japanese style cooking? This course covers basic Japanese dishes in 3 different cooking methods from suimono (water-based), nimono (appetizer), and yakimono (grilled/fried). The course will also cover different types of ingredients, utensils, and sauces commonly used in delicious Japanese food.

Participants will be able to learn the following:

  1. Introduction to Japanese culinary culture, including the history, developments, cooking methods, common ingredients and other fun facts
  2. Mise-en-place of Japanese food preparation, with an emphasis on food preparation techniques
  3. Making Spinach Namuru as a Japanese Appetizer or Nimono
  4. Making Sukiyaki from scratch, including the sauce and broth, as well as the process and presentation of the dish
  5. Making Oyakodon from scratch with our Walker Enterprise academy recipe

This workshop is suitable for all, whether you are an F&B professional or a home cook, or even just a Japanese food enthusiast. It is a simple yet engaging workshop where you will be able to bring home with you the knowledge and skills you have acquired.
