Echoes from the Mountains explores the intersection of recovery, resilience, and cultural identity in Appalachia. This presentation honors the lived experiences of Appalachian people and their descendants, shaped by generational trauma, systemic exploitation, and the opioid epidemic. Through personal narrative and cultural insight, it sheds light on the unique strengths and silent struggles carried through the hills, and the ways recovery work must adapt to honor both. It’s a call to action for providers to listen deeper, bridge historical divides, and build recovery ecosystems that respect Appalachian truth, pride, and pain. The mountains remember. Our work must reflect that.
