Info: Alla Prima Technique: Define "alla prima" (wet-on-wet), its spontaneous, direct nature—emphasis on painting in a single sitting.


Primary Palette: Introduce the eight-color palette (warm/cool red, yellow, blue + black/white)

Color Mixing Exercise

Info: Warm + Warm = vibrant, intense mixtures

Cool + Cool = often more subtle, harmonious blends

Warm + Cool = risk of neutralizing colors or creating “mud”


Complementary Mixing:

Show how to create neutral grays by mixing opposites (red/green, blue/orange, yellow/purple) with the limited palette


Demonstrate how this builds a richer understanding of color temperature and control
