St Anthony and the Mystery Train

St Anthony and the Mystery Train is back at Slim’s August 1st from 9-11pm! A rockabilly band from Durham of storytellers taking cues from the magical realism of Tom Waits, the free-associations of Bob Dylan, and the misfit spirituals of Johnny Cash. The stories inside the music are best described as a stream of Southern-Gothic consciousness, short pieces of theatre in which every musician, playing a combination of garage rock, blues, & country, is a "character." St Anthony and the Mystery Train will debut their new record at Slim’s, mixed by Ryan Pickett, the live recording mixer for My Morning Jacket.
