Native Plant Summer Maintenance Basics with Erik Blank

A Walk & Talk through TPF's demonstration gardens covering seasonal care and pruning practices for California native plants.

About this Event

Summer's the time to remove dry material from those dormant plants to make way for regrowth! In fact, ongoing care for established native plants is beneficial all year round. Due to popular demand, we're offering this class once again!

Join Horticulture Educator, Erik Blank, for an overview of seasonal maintenance practices and pruning techniques using practical examples to give you a solid foundation in assessing the needs of your native garden during the dry season.

This walk and talk will be held outdoors in our demonstration gardens. We ask guests to wear closed-toe shoes, sun protection, and to prepare for up to one hour of walking on sloped and uneven surfaces. Water bottles are strongly recommended.

Erik Blank is a long-time California native plant enthusiast with professional experience in restoration, installation and maintenance. He joined the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers and Native Plants in 2020.
