Join us for an afternoon walk through the blooming beauty and inspired vision of Frederick Law Olmsted’s Highland Park.As summer begins to unfold, this guided tour will offer a stunning look at the park’s trees, shrubs, and gardens in full seasonal color. We’ll explore Highland Park’s rich history, thoughtful design, and the landscape elements that make it a living work of art. Learn how Olmsted’s background influenced his visionary layout and purpose for this public space. Along the way, we’ll highlight some of the park’s unique and historic “legacy” and specimen plants that help make Highland Park such a beloved and remarkable place.

This walking tour (rain or shine) will last approximately 1.50 hours and will traverse over winding paved paths throughout the park. Please note the tour requires the ability to walk and stand throughout.
Chuck is a volunteer with the Highland Park Conservancy as both Docent and Garden Steward.
Additional Information:
- The tour will begin in front of gatehouse #2 (400 Reservoir Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620)
- Parking can be found along Reservoir Avenue along the south side of the street. Please follow parking sign guidelines.

- Ticketing: This tour is limited and ticketed. If you are unable to attend, please be sure to cancel your ticket, freeing up a spot for another guest.
- Weather Considerations: We are vulnerable to Mother Nature. This tour will be outdoors, so plan your dress and weather gear accordingly. In the event of heavy rain, thunderstorms, or high winds, the tour may be cancelled and rescheduled.
- Accessibility: Limited mobility accommodations are available. Some paths in the park may have limited accessibility.
