An exhibition based on the Opening Ceremony Brochure from when the Druids Heath estate was officially opened in 1965. This is a look back in time to when the estate was first imagined and built.
The Opening Ceremony Brochure is held in the Wolfson Centre Archives in the library of Birmingham. While the brochure cannot be displayed outside of controlled conditions, the exhibition reproduces and highlights different aspects of the document. This is supplemented by imagery collated from residents.
The exhibition is curated by Jayne Murray, artist & activist and winner of the Birmingham Jane Jacobs Award 2025.
The exhibition is at The Outpost Arts Centre, a former shop unit on Pound Road Shops in the heart of Druids Heath and is part of Birmingham Heritage Week
