About the show:

On Thursday, September 11th, Hermit Woods Winery will welcome dynamic traditional folk duo Alex Cumming & Audrey Jaber to The Loft Listening Room stage as part of the Loft Living Room Sessions hosted by local singer-songwriter Katie Dobbins. This intimate evening of music and conversation makes guests feel like these artists are right in their own living room while enjoying a nice night out, including a full menu and delicious wine. Tickets, which include a complimentary pre-show wine tasting, range from $12 to $18 and are available on the Hermit Woods Winery website or for purchase at the door.

The evening will begin with a brief opening set by award-winning New Hampshire artist Katie Dobbins, who will then invite Alex and Audrey to join her on the couch for a couple of songs and a conversation about their work. The evening will culminate with a highly anticipated performance by our acclaimed guest artists.

About Alex Cumming & Audrey Jaber:

Alex Cumming (Bellwether, Red Case Band, The Teacups) and Audrey Jaber (Free Raisins, Wake Up Robin, Gaslight Tinkers) are a dynamic duo in the traditional folk music scene, known for their captivating performances and deep-rooted passion for folk traditions.

Together, Alex and Audrey create a unique and engaging traditional music experience. Their collaboration blends Alex’s traditional singing and rhythmic accordion playing with Audrey’s lively fiddling, resulting in performances that resonate deeply with audiences. Audrey played fiddle on Alex’s debut solo album, “Homecoming,” released in 2024 and the duo are working on their debut duo record in 2025.

Recent notable performances include Club Passim, Monadnock Folklore Society, Folklore Society of Greater Washington, Folk Music Society of New York, Historical Tea & Dance Society, Halsway Manor, Cecil Sharp House, Circle Left, BACDS Fall Frolic, and as guest artists in The Christmas Revels at Sanders Theater. In 2025, they embark on tours across California, the Pacific Northwest, the Northeast US, and renowned UK festivals, including the Sidmouth Folk Festival, Broadstairs Folk Week, and Whitby Folk Week.

Their partnership is celebrated for its ability to connect with audiences through passionate and authentic performances, making them a beloved duo in the traditional folk music community.

A Listening Room Experience

Hermit Woods is excited to bring talented artists from New England and beyond to perform for you. Each performance will provide you with an intimate, up-close, and personal experience with the performing artists. We ask our audience please refrain from talking during the featured show. Your silence will allow the artists and the audience to immerse themselves in the experience, which is not otherwise possible in larger, noisier environments.

Doors open at 5:30 pm for a complimentary wine tasting. The Loft Doors open at 6:00. We encourage you to arrive early for our wine tasting and enjoy food and wine before the show. The kitchen will close at 7:00 pm. When the featured artists takes the stage we will ask that the audience remain quiet during the performance. After the show, we invite you to interact with the artists and purchase any music or merchandise offerings if available.
