St. Charles Market Apple Pie Contest

Join the fun! Enter your apple pie for a chance to win the "Best Apple Pie in St. Charles." The grand prize winner will receive an engraved pie plate.
HOW TO ENTER
Participants are encouraged to pre-register pies using the online entry form found here. Entries received by September 5 will receive a discounted entry fee of $5.00. Day of entry fee will go up to $10. We ask that each participant bring two (2) pies: one to be used for judging and the other will be sold at the Apple Pie Contest Tent and proceeds will benefit a local food pantry. Day of entries will be accepted. Participants should bring an entry form, pie, and 10.00 entry fee to the City of St. Charles tent between 8:30 and 9:45 AM on September 13th. **PLEASE NOTE: THIS MARKET IS BEING HELD IN NEW TOWN NEAR THE NEW TOWN AMPHITHEATER.
CONTEST RULES:
· Pies must be dropped off at the Market by 9:45 AM on Saturday, September 13th.
· A full list of ingredients is required (no measurements necessary).
· All pies must be made from scratch. No store-bought crusts or fillings.
· One entry per household.
· Amateur bakers only.
· Apples must be the main filling ingredient. Do NOT use raisins or other fruits. Nuts are NOT allowed as a filling ingredient, but can be used in the crust if needed for a gluten-free pie.
· Entry fees are nonrefundable.
· Rule violations may cause for your pie to be deemed ineligible for participation in the contest, at the sole discretion of the St. Charles Market staff.
MORE INFORMATION:
· Pies will be judged on texture, taste, and appearance.
· Second and Third place winners will receive a St. Charles Market gift basket. The first place winner will receive a grand prize and bragging rights!
· The judges’ scores will not be distributed to participants.
· Non-disposable pie plates must be picked up at the conclusion of the contest. When the contest is over.
