Workshop Description
In this hands-on class, participants will learn fundamental weaving techniques and explore how to weave directly onto recycled materials. We'll be using pine needles as our primary weaving material, combining natural elements with reclaimed objects to create one-of-a-kind pieces. This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in sustainable art, craft, and creative reuse.

About the Artist
Abeni Pierson is a fiber artist and educator based in California. After studying fashion design at Columbia College in Chicago, she shifted paths upon realizing the environmental harm and wastefulness of the fashion industry. This awakening led her to explore more sustainable practices rooted in nature. Through pine needle basketry, Abeni creates work that honors traditional folk methods while promoting environmental mindfulness and hands-on creativity.
