Guided Birdwatching at Shirley Place
About this Event
Shirley Place is home to a large number of native and migratory bird species throughout the year. The goldfinch, downy woodpecker, Cooper’s hawk, and even the tried-and-true pigeon have all been sighted here.
Join us bright and early on Saturday, July 26 for an introduction to the many birds you might encounter on visits to the site, as well as interspersed histories of each species as they relate to the occupants of Shirley Place. After the outdoor lecture, feel free to wander the grounds and get in some birdwatching time of your own!
Please bring binoculars (if you have a pair), comfortable clothing, and water for yourself. Donuts will be provided.
A donation of $12 per person is suggested. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date for this event is August 2 at 8:30am.
