Who doesn't love sourdough? Everyone has heard of someone who has a starter that has been alive for generations, are these just urban myths? Do you have to travel to San Francisco for a great boule? We will unravel all these mysteries in this fun, hands-on class. Learn all the professional baking tips to make delicious sourdough right at home. In this class you will learn the difference between "natural leavened" and commercial yeast starters and understand the pros and cons of each. You will learn to develop your own take home starter and learn, nurture and maintain it for years to come!
You will go home with a loaf to bake and a 100 year old starter!

About Saute Academy:
Our mission is to teach participants the fundamentals of the culinary arts, including basic cooking techniques, knife skills, sauce making and much more. Chef Instructors will teach you to become comfortable and confident in the kitchen by incorporating hands-on cooking techniques using easy-to-use recipes that will save you time and reduce stress in the kitchen. Our facility is well equipped with the necessary tools to accomplish the expected outcomes of each class. Classes are open to all skill levels.
