14th Annual Be the Bridge -- Hope in a World of Hurt
About this Event
We're gathering in-person in the Fellowship Hall at Bethany United Methodist Church to celebrate positive stories coming out of the THRIVE project that WOV Austin supported from 2016-2022 and its foundation of what World Vision calls "Biblical Empowered Worldview (BEWV)." This early work has now spread not only in Central America but around the world to 40+ countries in 2025. Praise God for multiplying our loaves and fishes for His Kingdom purposes!
We'll also learn more from World Vision's expert on BEWV (aka World Vision's proverbial "secret sauce") from Chris Shore, World Vision USA's Chief Development Officer for Economic Empowerment. World Vision's BEWV focuses on changing mindsets and behaviors through faith-based principles. This approach, used within the broader context of World Vision's development work in the field, addresses challenges like culturally accepted violence, lack-mentalities, and hopelessness by fostering a sense of agency and self-worth based on biblical teachings. Yessica from Honduras (pictured above) is a testament that this approach transforms not just the pocketbook, but the heart and mind as well!
Join us in celebrating this move of God in this season in the earth. It truly is very needed good news. Use the "Tickets" button above to secure your spot. Through August 16th, use Eventbrite promo code JOY2025 to register for free thanks to our business sponsor!
