Host Church Welcome Letter

I want to extend an invitation to join our WVBC family here at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Charleston on Thursday, October 16, and Friday, October 17. We are excited to be your host this year and hope you will be able to join the Annual Meeting. Our local arrangements committee has been busy preparing for your arrival and hope to make your time with us a blessing.

As we make our preparations, we are reminded of Paul’s declaration in Ephesians 3:20 – God can do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine by the work of the Holy Spirit within us. We realize He will give us the strength and provisions to host our statewide family as we rely on Him. I invite you to come and experience His faithfulness as we hear and celebrate all He has done in and through our Convention in the past year. From that point, may we begin to dream what He has planned for us as we seek to engage our communities for Him!

We are excited to have Mac Lake, the founder of Multiply Group – a ministry dedicated to helping organizations and leaders achieve their full potential – give us insights into strategies to develop leaders within our churches, helping us to be effective and healthy. We are also excited to have Rev. DaVontaé Edwards, a former member and leader of Emmanuel Baptist Church, now pastor of Dunbar First Baptist Church, share the annual sermon. I pray you come with expectant hearts and prayed up lives to engage our Risen Savior as a Convention family.
