The Green Lunch Series will delve into topics such as energy, food security, equity and gender, smart growth, land use, transportation, materials, and emerging innovations. Through engaging speakers, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, we aim to explore the positive future envisioned by millions worldwide, with a keen focus on local perspectives and solutions.

Please join us on Tuesday, August 12th from 12:00PM- 1:00PM at the Athens Public Library in their large conference room. Dr. Jana Houser: Director of Undergraduate Studies at The Ohio State University will present on the topic "Tornadoes: what do scientists really know and what do we still have to learn". In this talk, Dr. Houser will discuss the basics of tornadoes - how they form, why tornado alley is the severe weather hotspot in the US, how tornado events are changing with time, and how climate change impacts tornadoes. She will present the facts as scientists currently understand them and also identify places we need more research to fill in the gaps of our knowledge.
