Wayfinder Wanders - August SEND Family Walk
About this Event
An outdoor adventure for children with SEND* and their families
Join Wayfinder Calderdale CIC for our new monthly Wayfinder Wanders – calming, creative outdoor sessions designed with neurodivergent children and their families in mind.
August’s walk is themed “Meet the Forest Guardians”
We’ll go on a gentle nature walk, collect fallen treasures along the way, and then make our very own “Pocket Forest Guardian” — a magical creature made from natural materials to take home and care for. There’ll be time afterwards to unwind and chat at the Cromwell Bottom Café, with drinks and refreshments available by donation.
This event is designed for children with SEND, including autistic and ADHD children, and is sibling-friendly. It’s a relaxed, inclusive, low-pressure environment where families can enjoy time in nature and connect with others who get it.
*diagnosis is not required

We welcome all needs and abilities. There are several routes available at Cromwell Bottom, including a fully accessible option, and we’ll adjust the walk to suit the group on the day. The walk will be around 1–2 miles depending on needs.
