MIDI Drum Machines Workshop
About this Event
Join us for a new series of workshops that will show you how to get started performing on a drum machine! These hardware instruments are packed with nearly-unlimited capabilities— whether for composing/producing your own music, or playing live for an audience. We already have the machines on site (Akai’s MPD218 and the MPC2500) and can provide you with the knowledge of how to familiarize yourself with the hardware. Most programs work with these instruments right out of the box, but we will be starting lessons on the free first-party software that is made by Akai (for PC and Mac) to ensure compatibility. We will also provide attendees with a custom-made pack of samples to experiment with. Learn how to make instrumentals, sample sounds or existing songs, and get ready for your mastery of drum machines!
Instructor: Zac (D3adrum)
D3adrum - a Pittsburgh-based audio engineer and sound mixer, brings a unique perspective informed by years of experience as a performing musician. Transitioning from drumming with various groups and live MPC production, Deadrum has cultivated a deep understanding of audio through extensive networking and collaboration with fellow musicians. This hands-on experience translates into a refined approach to recording and mixing.
