These two have taught over 1000 Mahjong newbies and have been featured on Good Morning America and Mahjong Podcasts. They travel all over the country teaching celebrities and stores and communities this game they love!

Check-In

Info: Please give yourself ample time to prepare your table for play, get a drink (cash bar) complimentary NA drinks, make a plate of yummy bites, and check out the raffle prizes (which will lead to you buying raffle tickets to up your chances of winning the fantastic prizes!). Everyone needs to be seated by 11:15 am to go over rules and any questions.

Introduction

Info: Ashley and Linda from Dallas Mahj Club will introduce themselves and explain the rules of the tournament.

🕑: 11:30 AM - 02:00 PM
Play in the Tournament

Info: Your table will play from 11:30am -1:00pm. Scorecards will be provided. Simplified scoring will be used with the winner of each round receiving the value of the hand. The value will double if you win on a joker-less hand. For example, if you mahjong on a 25 value hand, you receive 25 points. If you mahjong without any jokers, you receive 50 points. During this round, your table can elect to play with blanks and extra jokers.

• At 1:00pm, play will stop even if it is mid game. The player with the highest cumulative score will advance to the next round. If players are tied, they will roll a single die with the highest roll continuing to the next round. The remaining three players can continue to play with Bob.

Semi and Final Play

Info: At 1:05pm, semifinal play will begin. Sixtables (24 players) will compete in the semifinals. These games will be played using National Mahjong League rules. The first player to win advances to the final round. Two tables (eight players) will compete in the finals. We look forward to seeing you there!
