Suminagashi Water Marbling on Paper

IN-PERSON WORKSHOP:
Participants will learn and practice the art of Suminagashi water marbling, which is a technique used to create swirling decorative patterns by floating special inks on the surface of water, and then transferring the design onto another surface, such as paper or fabric. In this demonstration we will use Aitoh Suminagashi inks to create vibrant and colorful patterned pieces of paper. Materials and direction will be provided by instructor.
No experience needed... Bring your friends and be ready to create!
**Atendees under 14 must be accomanied by an adult.
ABOUT EMILY
Emily is a self-taught multi-media artist and one of the managers at Plaza Art – Towson. She has enjoyed working with a variety of different mediums over the years but is particularly fond of linoleum printing and oil painting at this time in her life. She loves experimenting with and developing new techniques to channel her creativity and is so excited to share it with you!
