About this Event

Are you ready for the best Open Mic & Slam Experience?

This year we will be rocking the color Green 💚 Shirt or full attire recommended.

Below youll find all the information you need to know about this epic event!

Guidelines for Open Mic:

• Sign up list will be available at 6:00pm.
• Open mic starts at 6:30pm sharp.
• 1 Poem, 2-3 minutes long. (5min on stage)

Guidelines for Slam:

10 slammers will compete for cash prizes and awards. Slam will start between 8-830pm.

Cash Prizes:

1st Place - $500

2nd Place - $100

3rd Place - $50

Payments will be sent vía Cashapp or PayPal and each participant must have both available in the event they are one of the winners.

Round 1:

• Each Poet has a time limite of 3 minutes and 15 seconds of grace to perform 1 poem.
• If the poet goes over time, .5 points will be deducted from the total score of the performance.
• Poem’s must be original works.
• No profanity, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, bullying or racial slurs.
• No costumes, props or instruments
• The poet receives scores out of 10 from five selected judges. The high and low scores are dropped and the middle three are added together.

Round 2:

• Only 4 Poets will advance to Round 2.
• Time limit of 4 minutes on stage.
• 3 Poets will place.
• In the event of a tie, the top two poets face off in a final round.

We encourage our slammers to chose poems they can memorize and help them focus on their overall performance connecting with the judges and the audience.
