The Great Escape: River Run from Crockett

This river race on the Mulberry Fork of the Black Warrior River traces the route the residents of the Creek village of Black Warrior Town took to escape Davy Crockett and the Tennesee Militia. It begins at The Forks, 5840 Sipsey Road, Empire, Alabama and ends at Disney Lake/Landing in the town of Cordova where the Indian Head Mill Festival will be in full swing. Our river is beautiful in October, and a good time is had by all!

Logistics

Info: Racers will drop off their boats from 5:00 AM till 7:00 AM at "The Forks" 5840 Sipsey Road, Empire, Alabama. They will then drive to Disney Lake/Landing in Cordova where they will be shuttled back to the start of the race. We will have a safety briefing and a time of remembrance for the people of Black Warrior Town. The starting horn will sound at 8:00 AM.
