August Bioblitz
About this Event
Join us for our August bioblitz at CREW Marsh Trails! Get ready to photograph as many wildlife species as you can as we hike the trails and document biodiversity and species abundance at CREW!
Bioblitzes are citizen-science iniaitives that 1) connect beginner and amatuer naturalists to experts in the field and 2) contribute to publically available datasets tracking biodiversity and species abundance across the globe. Using the app, iNaturalist, participants will photograph and submit the different species we observe along the CREW trails to help build both our understanding of our many wildlife inhabitants and iNaturalist's global datasets.
Each month, we'll head to a different trail system for a blitz, which allows us to survey each trail system 3 times a year and track the seasonality of different species! WOO!
Not sure on your IDs? No problem! iNaturalist allows identification suggestions from other users for species you're unsure of. This both improves the quality of the spot and helps build your identification skills!
Naturalists of all abilities are invited to participate!
Photographers with macro lenses are highly encouraged to attend!
