Shape a More Inclusive Edmonton: Migrant Action Plan Discussion
About this Event
Please join us for a group discussion that will inform the City of Edmonton’s Migrant Action Plan.
The City of Edmonton is developing a Migrant Action Plan (MAP) that will guide how we work alongside the community to reduce barriers, strengthen inclusion and improve outcomes for migrants. We are now in the external engagement phase and we need your help to identify key actions the City of Edmonton can take to make Edmonton more inclusive for migrants.
This plan builds on City Policy C529A – Migrant Inclusion and focuses on six key areas: inclusive economy, service access and equity, neighbourhood inclusion, accessible communication and civic participation, data for action, and leadership in advocacy and implementation.
Migrant refers to folks who were born outside of Canada, or whose parents were, and now live in Edmonton. This term was chosen through previous engagement and is used in the spirit of including people with diverse experiences and immigration statuses.
Please sign up for one session. We are offering three in-person and two virtual sessions. To ensure there is space for everyone to participate, please send a maximum of two people per organization/group.
