Kid’s Class- Mini Makers (K-2)- Sculpt It Animal Clay Creatures

Functional meets fun! Kids will sculpt animal clay creatures from air-dry clay—designed by them, made by hand.

About this Event

In Week 3 of Mini Makers, we’re getting creative with clay! This hands-on class is perfect for kids who love animals and using their imagination to bring characters to life.

🦉 What We’ll Make:Using air-dry clay, students will sculpt their own animal or imaginary creature—from turtles and cats to dragons and silly sea monsters! We’ll provide fun examples and inspiration, but kids are free to invent something entirely their own.

🎨 What They’ll Learn:

• How to roll, pinch, and shape basic forms
• Simple clay techniques to attach body parts (legs, tails, ears, etc.)
• How to use texture tools and fingers to add details like fur, feathers, or scales

✨ Creative Focus:This class is all about expression and storytelling—kids will design their own creature, give it a name, and decide where it lives or what it likes to do!

🎁 Take-Home Project:Each child will leave with a one-of-a-kind clay creature they sculpted themselves, ready to dry and keep at home.
