About this Event

Nature Journaling - Tweedsmuir - Art Show

Celebrate the rich landscapes and plant life of the River Tweed at the Nature Journaling โ€“ Tweedsmuir Art Show. Held on August 2nd and 3rd at Tweedsmuir Village Hall, this inspiring exhibition showcases the artwork created during an 8-week programme that explored the natural beauty of the Tweedsmuir area.

Destination Tweed funded the project via their Community Grants Scheme, which is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Led by Pete Carthy, a nature journalist and founding director of Instinctively Wild CIC, the project invited local participants to engage deeply with the environment through close observation, photography, and watercolour painting. The result is a stunning collection of paintings and reflections that highlight the plants, wildlife, and landscapes that shape this part of the River Tweed.

This is more than an art showโ€”itโ€™s a celebration of connection: to place, to nature, and to the creativity that flourishes when we slow down and truly look. Whether youโ€™re a nature lover, an art enthusiast, or simply curious, everyone is welcome to enjoy this vibrant community exhibition.

Join us on the 2nd or 3rd August, between 10 am and 4 pm at Tweedsmuir Village Hall, ML.Be inspired by nature, and see the Tweed through fresh eyes. Additionally, tea, coffee, and homemade cake will be available, plus artwork to buy.
