Plant native shrubs to restore pollinator-friendly riverside prairie in North Minneapolis

About this Event

Join Friends of the Mississippi River and the Women’s Environmental Network for a hands-on restoration event in North Minneapolis! Volunteers will plant native shrubs to support FMR's ongoing efforts to restore 3.3 acres of resilient, pollinator-friendly riverside prairie. After planting, volunteers will help water the new shrubs by scooping river water with buckets—a moderately strenuous but rewarding task shared among those able to carry up to 40 pounds. Children 8 years old and older are welcome without registration, but need to be accompanied by at least one parent or guardian.

Please note: planting will take place off-trail on uneven ground and requires walking, standing, and kneeling.

Please register for this event for precise location details and more information.
