Urban Sketching: Pencil vs. Paint
About this Event
Get ready to hit the streets with your sketchbook in this beginner friendly two-part urban sketching workshop on August 23 and 30 in Historic Downtown Cheyenne. Day one covers the essentials—tools, techniques, and using traditional watercolor to capture the city’s character in the moment. On day two, we’ll dive into watercolor pencils, exploring their unique feel and how they compare to regular watercolor paints.
No experience needed, just bring your curiosity and a willingness to see the world a little differently. We’ll play with bold brushstrokes, loose lines, and layered textures to bring everyday scenes to life. From sunlit sidewalks to historic facades, you’ll discover how to capture the spirit of Cheyenne one sketch at a time.
All materials will be provided; but feel free to bring your own sketchbook and supplies if you’d like.
*Note this is a two part class taking place on Aug 23rd & 30th from 2:00-4:00pm
