Calling all Branford Residents for a free unforgettable experience on your First Time Visit to this magical island. Join us on August 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM for a day filled with exploration, relaxation, and fun!

We'll take the ThimbleIsland Ferry to Outer Island on this tour of the US Stewart B. McKinney Fish and Wildlife Refuge. We will look for invasive Shore crabs on the rocky beach and search for coastal birds diving for fish. Learn the history of this amazing off-shore island in our own town! Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the granite bedrock looking out across the Sound! Plan to meet at the Stony Creek Dock at 10 AM for departure on the ferry by 10:30AM with return by ferry at 1:30PM.
