Intro to Jewelry Pt 1- Evening Class
About this Event
This introductory 8-week course will focus on the design process and basic fabrication techniques of jewelry making and metalsmithing. In this class, students will begin with a sample project to practice the design, layout, and construction of a small decorative metal piece. This will serve as a guide to practice using basic tools and techniques for sawing, soldering, texturing, and polishing. Using these skills, students will design and construct a custom pendant, ring, and/or earrings. Additional demonstrations, including bezel setting and riveting, will be provided during this course.
Materials included - copper, brass, nickel sheet and wire, and sterling silver for a ring project with a cabochon stone.
Instructor RyAn Holmes
