NKT Rider Horse Show 2025

Riders will be able to select up to 2 show classes to participate in. The 3rd class selection will available based on the number of riders.

About this Event


CLASSES – BEGINNING AT 9:00am
- Purchase 1 'ticket' per rider -
- Each ticket will allow rider to select 3 show classes*** from the selection below - You will only be guaranteed for the first 2 class selections -

***This is modification of selecting 2 classes from previous years with 3 will allow us to not limit the number of riders who are able to participate in our show - Thanks for understanding

1. Walk/trot

This event is judged. The judge will ask the riders to walk and trot. The judge will evaluate

the horse and the riders’ abilities and efforts.

2. Catalog Race

This is a timed event. Riders will be given a page number to find in a catalog. They will

walk/trot to the barrel where the catalog is, stay on the horse and find that page number,

rip out that page, and walk/trot back to the starting line.

3. Bucket Race

This is a timed event. Rider will be given a bean bag to take to the end of the arena and

throw in a bucket, and come back and get another one. They will repeat this 3 times total.

4. Musical Cones

Rider will walk/trot around the arena while music plays. When music stops, all riders must

stop next to a cone. If you go past a cone you must advance to the next cone. Rider without

a cone is “out”. Goal: to be the last rider in the arena.

5. Pole Bending

This is a timed event. Four poles are set in a straight line, each spread 21 feet apart. Rider

will walk/trot/lope in a straight line to pole #4, turn around and steer back and forth,

weaving through the poles to pole number 1. Once number 1 is reach, the rider will

continue weaving back to pole #4, then straight back to the starting line.

6. Texas Key Hole

This is a timed event. Rider will ride straight between 4 poles, turn around and return to

the starting line.

7. Barrels

This is a timed event. Rider will walk/trot/lope through a clover leaf pattern, looping

around each 3 barrels.

Boot Race (No Horse) Crowd Participation

*does not count as one of the 3 show classes - participate day of*

Riders, Family, and friends will take their shoes or boots off and put them in a pile at the

end of the arena. All participants will find their shoes, put them on their feet, and then

proceed to the finish line.

Stick Horse Race (No Horse) Crowd Participation

*does not count as one of the 3 show classes - participate day of*

Riders, family, and friends will “race” their stick horse from one side of the arena to the

other.
