Qigong - introductory workshopintegrating mind, body and feelings

Monday August 4th 5.15pm to 7pm, for 5.30pm start

Panda’s Coffee House, 84 Balham High Rd, SW12 9AG

What is Qi gong? “qi” pronounced chi, means energy/vitality and the quality of mind body integration. “Gong” means cultivation. Going back thousands of years, qigong includes slow moving exercises & stationary poses (tai chi is a martial form of qigong).

Why do qigong? qigong improves health & wellbeing; increases energy and develops awareness. It also helps to reduce stress, improve focus and develop balance. It’s quicker to learn than tai chi and quicker to give benefits.

Who is it for? Everyone! Qigong is suitable for all ages, levels of fitness and levels of mobility. No previous experience is needed, just yourself and comfortable clothing with socks/flat shoes for use on a wooden floor.

What’s the instructor’s background? Andrew started with aikido, a fast flowing martial art, 30 years ago; tai chi 20 years ago and focusing on qigong 10 years ago. He started teaching qigong at the beginning of the first lockdown in 2020 at the Croydon Buddhist Centre: https://www.buddhistcentrecroydon.org/yoga
