What is relief Printmaking?
It is a process where an image is carved into a surface-typically linoleum or wood-leaving raised areas that will hold ink. Once ink is applied, the design is transferred onto paper by hand or with a press, creating a bold and unique print. This technique has been around for centuries by artists and printmakers to craft everything from intricate book illustrations to expressive fine art.
What to expect:
- A step-by-step lesson in carving, inking, and printing your own design.
- Hands on guidance from Bailey Powell
- All carving materials provided; just bring your creativity!
- A welcoming and creative atmosphere inside Bookdom Apothecary
- The opportunity to take home your own handcrafted prints
Be sure to secure your spot early! Whether you're an experienced artist or a curious beginner, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore the magic of printmaking in a cozy, inspiring setting.
