Join us for a fun, empowering 20-mile women’s mountain bike ride through the beautiful San Juan mountains!

About this Event

Join SheJumps for an approximately 20-mile women’s mountain bike ride through the beautiful San Juan mountains from Molas Pass to Engineer Mountain trailhead in Durango, CO! This is your chance to connect with a supportive group of women, explore new terrain, and push your boundaries in a welcoming environment.

This ride is designed for advanced riders who are comfortable on a bike and ready to ride a solid distance on a “black” rated trail, with some varied terrain along the way. Read the description of the trail below to see if this is a good trail for you! You’ll be challenged, but also supported by a fun, friendly group of women who are all here to enjoy the adventure together.

We welcome all women and girls (transgender and cisgender) as well as non-binary people who identify with the women’s community. All ages are welcome. All minors (under age 18) must be supervised by a parent or guardian for the full event. Grab your friends and be prepared to meet some new ones!

What to Wear:

Please be sure you come dressed and prepared for any weather in the mountains. Think layers that you can easily take on and off (weather can change quickly in the mountains).

What to bring:

  • A well-maintained mountain bike (reach out if you need help with any maintenance!)
  • The Ten Essentials for any mountain trip!
  • Helmet (mandatory)
  • Check out this amazing resource from Kelsey Lobato of Dirty Wheels, here in Durango, who shares what’s in her backpack on a backcountry ride!
  • Sunscreen
  • Positive attitude and a sense of adventure!

Be prepared for:

A mix of moderate and steep climbs, fast descents, and technical sections. The trail is approximately 20.16 miles long, 2,941ft. of climbing, 4,482ft. of descent, much of the ride above 11,000ft. Elevation. The trail is rated Black on trailforks.

Approximately 3-4 hours of riding, depending on pace and stops. This is a no-drop ride, meaning we stop at every trail junction, make sure we have everyone, and make sure everyone is doing well! Oh…and probably snacks.

Some challenging sections, so please ensure you’re comfortable riding for extended periods on rough terrain. Here is a strava link to the ride if you’re curious for more information about the trail.

This ride is about connecting with nature, trying something new, and building confidence, so while we’ll be pushing ourselves, the goal is to have fun and support one another along the way! We encourage riders to assess their comfort level with this distance and terrain before signing up. If you're ready to ride, make new friends, and enjoy a beautiful day in the mountains, we’d love to have you join us!

We wish we could have 100+ people! But, this ride is limited to 10 participants for risk mitigation purposes. Participants must be registered with a completed waiver to join the ride.
