Join us for an afternoon of wild foraging followed by an energising outdoor yoga practice.

About this Event

Join us for an afternoon of yoga and foraging to explore and celebrate nature's offerings.

About your facilitators

The yoga practice will be led by Ruth MacGilp (she/her) from Queer Yoga Edinburgh, and the foraging workshop will be run by Victoria Beall (she/her). Victoria is an expert in all things foraging, fungi and regenerative agriculture. She will guide us through the grounds of Cammo Estate to search for plants and fungi with fascinating uses in food and medicine - you can expect to learn new things, see unexpected beauty, try some wild foraged snacks and even take some goodies home.

1.15 - 3.00 Foraging workshop with Victoria

3.00-3.15 Break / Wild snacks

Tickets

There are tiered ticket options as we hope to make classes and workshops as financially accessible as possible. Please pay what you are able. Your donation goes to support our community so we can continue running our classes and events.

Refunds are eligible up to 24 hours before event start time - we will struggle to fill your space with short notice. If you are unable to make it and are willing to offer your ticket to someone else please feel free to email us or share on our Whatsapp group.

Please note, because this event takes place outdoors, if the weather forecast is looking particularly dire and we are forced to reschedule, we will email all attendees the night before, so keep an eye on your inboxes.

About the venue

We will be holding the event at Cammo Estate, which is a large public park and nature reserve located in the Barnton area on the North West edge of Edinburgh. You can access it by bicycle, bus, or by car.

From Edinburgh City Centre (Princes Street), you can take the 43 bus to Braehead Avenue, or you can take the X54, X55, X56, X59 or X60 to Barnton Junction.

There is a free car park on Cammo Walk and another on Cammo Road.

There are public toilets within the grounds.

Please aim to arrive at least 5 minutes before the start time so we can gather, and send a message on our Whatsapp group if you are running late or getting lost. We will send a location pin on the day so you can find our exact meeting spot.

What to bring

You will need to bring your own yoga mat, or a towel to practice on. Please let us know if you need help finding something appropriate.

We suggest you wear comfy clothes you can freely move in (leggings, shorts, T-shirts etc).

There are paths throughout Cammo Estate, but we may go off-track at times to look at plants and fungi, so please wear appropriate footwear! You may like to bring a small carrier bag or Tupperware box for any foraged goodies that you'd like to take home.

Make sure to bring appropriate layers, rainwear, sunscreen...the Scottish weather can be unpredictable!

We also recommend you bring a bottle of water and maybe a snack - but we will also have some wild snacks provided using locally foraged goodies.
