Unearthing Snowy 2.0 - Snowy STEM Academy National Science Week
About this Event
When digging a tunnel for the Snowy 2.0 project, one of the last things you might expect to find is a coral reef!
This hands-on experience for years 5&6 gets students involved in unearthing the mysteries within the Earthβs crust. Geology and geotechnology are integral in the designing and building of infrastructure, and by decoding the layers of rock that we build on and in, students will unpack the mysteries of ancient worlds and how they affect us today. With sampling experiences and discussion on experimental design, this session will have your class decoding the universe to help build tomorrow. This program has an online option that you or your students can access at a time and place that suits you across National Science Week, complete with in class practical activities to match!
This is the official portal for local students to attend this event IN PERSON at the Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre. The program will be split into two sessions, which is as follows:
Session one - 10:00am-11:00am
Session Two - 1:00pm-2:00pm
Spaces are limited, so sign up now and spark a new interest in the world beneath their feet.
