Keith Edaakie (Zuni) has been working full-time as a mixed media artist for nine years.His work is at once representative of Zuni culture and traditions and in conversation with contemporary concerns and subject matter.
Apart from his work as an artist, Edaakie has made his mark as an educator having served as a Zuni language and culturaliInstructor at Zuni Middle School, an artist mentorship instructor for the Zuni Youth Enrichment Project (ZYEP), and an art activity leader at the ZYEP summer camp. Edaakie has shown work at the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market, the Autry American Indian Arts Festival, and Santa Fe Indian Market, among others.
Edaakie has created mixed media artworks that address the current state of immigration through a lens of Zuni history and culture. He draws aesthetic inspiration for his pieces from the lowrider car shows he attended in his youth.
