OUR SPEAKER:
Our friend is an internationally celebrated author, professional speaker, futurist, leadership theorist-practitioner, and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles.
Nick has authored books and articles on a wide range of topics. A Cambridge-educated medical scientist and philosopher, Nick has spent three decades cracking the code of transformation (whether in the form of disruptive innovation, systemic change, or transformative leadership) while serving the purpose-led growth of ambitious organizations like Virgin, Genentech, and Microsoft, writing and hosting network TV shows, and walking the talk as a 10x purpose-driven entrepreneur.
We connected with Nick on many topics, but chiefly through , which advocates for rituals of passage and meaning making across traditional differences (political, religious, ethnic, etc.).
Tonight we will discuss Nick's relationship with "The Dark," solitary retreats alone in total darkness, designed with and guided by transformative facilitators and somatic therapists to cultivate much-needed wisdom, wholeness, aliveness, and fearlessness.
What can such isolation, alone with our mind’s terrors and traumas, teach us about the human experience and what each of us, individually or collectively, might best do with our time in the world?
How can isolation reignite our sense of connection and interdependence with the wider world?
How can complete darkness bring us closer to penetrating insight and even enlightenment?
Can darkness journeys unlock the responsible AI and regenerative tech that is so urgent right now?
And could such experiences cultivate the depth and breadth of character needed to help lead humanity out of ?
We look forward to discussing this with all of you on October 1st at Jeremy's Loft in San Francisco.
