About this Event

Author Event: Fariha Róisín — Poetry, Palestine, Decolonization, and Wellness

Join us for an evening with Fariha Róisín, a powerful literary voice whose work speaks to the intersections of identity, resistance, and healing. This event will feature a poetry reading alongside a timely and necessary conversation on Palestine, decolonization, and wellness—exploring what it means to care for ourselves and each other in the midst of systemic violence and erasure.

Róisín is a writer, culture worker, and educator whose work spans poetry, fiction, and critical nonfiction. A queer Muslim Bangladeshi raised in Australia and based in Los Angeles, they center themes of otherness, liminality, and the mercurial nature of being. They are the author of How To Cure A Ghost, Like A Bird, Who Is Wellness For?, and most recently, Survival Takes A Wild Imagination.

As a member of Writers Against the War on Gaza, Róisín brings a decolonial lens to both art and activism, interrogating who gets access to care, voice, and visibility.

Event will take place at Rosebud Bookshop on Rua de Cedofeita 634. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Copies of Fariha's books will be limited. To reserve a copy, please message aW5mbyB8IHJvc2VidWRib29rc2hvcCAhIGNvbQ==
