Floral Painting using Winsor & Newton Watercolour and Gouache with Teju Abi
About this Event
Join artist Teju Abiola as she shows how to paint lush florals with Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour & Designers Gouache. She’ll discuss key watercolour characteristics and break down the similarities and differences between transparent and opaque paints.
Learn layering, blending, water control, and brush techniques, as well as how to use watercolour mediums like masking fluid or iridescent medium. This will be a great opportunity to see what these materials are like for yourself! All levels are welcome, so come ready to paint with any watercolour questions you may have.
Teju Abiola is an artist based in Buffalo, New York who loves art history, materials, and processes. Primarily fascinated by watercolor’s fluid positionality and the intimacy of portraiture, she uses them to explore color, perception, identity, and representation. She has a BFA in Illustration with a minor in Visual Development from the Ringling College of Art and Design, and she is currently pursuing her MFA in Studio Art from the University at Buffalo. In addition to being a Winsor & Newton demo artist, she works as an illustrator at Hallmark Cards.
