We're back for another fun picnic to enthusiastically greet new students and "send them off" to Penn State while reconnecting with alumni!

About this Event

We'll welcome new local students to Penn State, "send them off" to their freshman year and renew friendships with current students and alumni.

General Admission tickets are just $20.00 ... FREE for all incoming and current Penn State students who attend a campus... READ ON!!

We connect students with alumni, mingle with their families, introduce them to Penn State traditions and reassure parents that their freshmen will BE OK!

Come out to this family- friendly Penn State Hampton Roads signature event held this year near the Shore Drive/N. Great Neck Rd intersection. Heads up- the Lynnhaven Dr. address is NOT near Lynnhaven Mall! ;-)

We are also inviting several students who started Spring semester '25 and didn't get to attend a welcome picnic last summer.

ALL NEW STUDENTS going off to a campus receive a GIFT from our Hampton Roads alumni chapter!

PLUS.... Penn State Trivia game, Giant jenga, Corn hole, PSU door prizes, 50-50 fundraising raffle to benefit our chapter's student scholarship fund!

Picnic Cost:

• Incoming Student- Complimentary (additional guests pay general admission)
• Returning Student- Complimentary

• Blue & White Chapter Sponsor- $50*
• Lion Sponsor- $25* (covers the cost of one student attending the picnic)

Penn State Hampton Roads is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. All sponsorships and contributions are tax deductible! Sponsorships don't include a general admission ticket. If you plan to attend, please purchase your general admission ticket as well.

Donations: Never required; Always appreciated!

Can I pay another way to avoid fees? Yes! But please respect the deadline so the treasurer can have it all taken care of by the picnic.

Payments for tickets, picnic sponsorships and donations may be made by check but must be received in the mail by the July 24, 2025 deadline to register. But it always helpful in planning food, etc., if you go ahead and register early.

Speaking of deadlines, donations never have a deadline! But many choose to contribute to our local scholarship and student care packages at the same time as the picnic.
