Sustainable Agriculture Tour at 13 Hens Vegetable Farm

Tour 13 Hens Farm to learn about the ecologically beneficial practices they use to grow produce and support the environment!

About this Event

Join King Conservation District on a tour of 13 Hens Farm and learn all about how the vegetable farming techniques that support the environment. We will take a tour of the farm and learn about the practices that have been implemented including huglekulture, integrated pest managament, and the use of high tunnels. Hear from the farmer to gain his perspective on the projects she has completed. This tour is a great opportunity for other vegetable farmers to learn more about permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and other environmentally friendly farming practices. Topics will include:

• Farm Conservation Plans
• High tunnels and NRCS funding
• Integrated pest managament for weeds and animal pests
• Reducing conflict with elk
• Growing fruit trees in polyculture

Exact address will be provided upon registration. Please dress to be outdoors, and walking around a farm. Hearty snacks will be provided.
