Clouds scud and wheel across the sky in a programme that celebrates the joy of deep breaths and the full possibilities of the human voice. Caroline Shaw’s origami-inspired How to fold the wind and Aaron Jay Kernis’ diaphanous Ecstatic Meditations sit at the heart of the each half, framed by sixteenth-century polyphony from John Sheppard and John Taverner—music that folds back on itself over and again, inviting us to look up and marvel at its vaulted lines.
