It's movie night at the Milford House! Join us for pizza and a screening of When Mom Is Away... With the In-Laws (10 giorni con i suoi) on Sunday, August 17th in celebration of Ferragosto. What's more Italian than that?

We will serve wine and soft drinks with the pizza. Please note that we do not allow BYOB.

When Mom Is Away... With the In-Laws (10 giorni con i suoi)

(98 minutes, Italian with English subtitles)

This comedy from director Alessandro Genovesi follows the side-splitting adventures of the Rovelli family as they head to Puglia, where eldest daughter Camilla is moving to attend university with her boyfriend, Antonio. The catch? Camilla's father, Carlo, doesn't trust Antonio one bit. Once the Rovelli family arrives at the country estate of Antonio's family, Carlo takes every opportunity to be the world’s most unwelcome guest. Despite their differences and a series of hilarious misunderstandings, the two sets of in-laws begin to realize that they have become one big family.

What is Ferragosto?

Ferragosto is a public holiday in Italy that originates from Feriae Augusti, the festival of Emperor Augustus, who made August 1st a day of rest after weeks of hard work harvesting summer crops. These days, Italians celebrate Ferragosto with a long weekend, heading for the coast or the cool air mountain air to soak up the last days of summer.
