The 5th Annual 517 Juneteenth Weekend kicks off with Pathways to Wholeness, a powerful seminar and mixer that invites our community into dialogue, reflection, and healing under this year’s theme: Empowering Black Wellness.
This free-to-attend event will explore key intersections of wellness in the Black community, with a focus on:
- Mental & Physical Wellness
- Social & Environmental (Community) Wellness
- Financial & Occupational Wellness
Our panel features thought leaders and experts from across Michigan, including:
- Dr. Ruth Nicole Brown, Chair & Foundation Professor at Michigan State University
- Dr. LeConte Dill, Associate Professor of African American and African Studies, MSU
- Dwayne Powell Jr., Managing Partner at Kalamazoo Forward Ventures
- Dr. LaKeeya Tucker, OB/GYN at University of Michigan Health–Sparrow
- Dr. Kwesi Brown, Vice Provost for University Outreach & Engagement, MSU
Following the panel, stay for an engaging mixer featuring drinks, light refreshments, and DJ sets curated by DJ Kaels.
