Journey inward with this 60- minute Yin Yoga practice to gently open and balance all seven of your Chakras.

About this Event

Join us for Yin Yoga for the Chakras + Kava with Jo Murdock on Saturday, June 28th at 10 am. As Virginia's first and only kava bar, we offer an alcohol-free space where you can connect with community and find inner peace. This special class will target a specific area of the body associated with one of the seven chakras, helping you cultivate a deeper sense of grounding, creativity, personal power, love, communication, intuition, and connection. Kava, a traditional root drink from the South Pacific Islands and Micronesia, has been enjoyed for over three millennia for its grounding, calming, and anxiety-reducing properties. Enjoy its benefits after class and connect with others during our Social Hour.

About Jo:

Hey! I'm Jo Murdock, a New York Native and lover of all things that elevate the mind, body and spirit! Yoga found me back in 2017 and thats the year I started living intentionally, breathing with a purpose and manifesting the life I envisioned in my head. Before Yoga I studied dance my entire life and cultivated a deep love for movement. I am classically trained and have received my certification of completion from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Once yoga became my life I took my existing love of movement and explored the ways in which it could heal, teach, empower and help.

My mission as a yoga teacher is to bring yoga to communities who have been historically underrepresented within it. I started a Scholarship Fund in 2020 for BIPOC + LGBTQIA folks to get their 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Certification + books fully paid for. We've graduated over 45 yoga teachers! As a former Lululemon Ambassador and Studio Trainer I created a nonprofit, Reimagine Our Wellness Inc, that offers yoga teacher trainings at affordable prices and monthly virtual donation based wellness classes.
