Plant Kin: A Wholesome Introduction to Herbalism & Earth-Based Self-Care

Step into a gentle, grounding space where curiosity is nurtured and connection to the green world blossoms. Plant Kin is a four-part, beginner-friendly herbalism series designed to help you cultivate confidence, intimacy, and agency in your relationship with plants and personal wellness. No prior experience is needed—just a sense of wonder and a willingness to learn.

Each 3-hour session (9am–12pm) offers hands-on experience, seasonal insight, and a practical introduction to eight local medicinal plants—revealed during class—along with the traditional knowledge and skills to begin building your own green Ph*rm*cy. You’ll learn to identify, grow, and harvest herbs with reverence, while creating remedies that nourish body and spirit

What You’ll Learn:

Meet two skin-loving herbs known for soothing irritation, reducing inflammation, and supporting tissue repair

Understand how topical remedies work and the connection between skin health and systemic wellness

Learn when to use oils, when to use salves, and how to personalize each

Hands-On Practice:

Learn about herbal oil infusion

Craft a healing salve to use at home

Plants Covered: Revealed in class—two herbs ideal for wounds, rashes, and inflammation

Materia Medica: Includes botanical ID, safe use, dosage, and traditional applications


Each module includes:

A deep dive into two medicinal plants

A hands-on folk medicine-making skill (teas, salves, tinctures, or tonics)

Herbal energetics, ethical wildcrafting, and reciprocal connection with the land

A comprehensive Materia Medica entry for each plant

Meg – A world-traveling, intuitive herbalist and horticulture therapist with a deep, embodied wisdom of plant medicine
