Richmond, CA 2025 No Cost Solar Sign-Up Workshop

Richmond partners with GRID Alternatives to offer free solar and EV charging systems. Sign up for the workshop on July 23, 2025 at 5:30 PM.

About this Event

The City of Richmond,CA has partnered with the non-profit, GRID Alternatives, Bay Area to provide no cost solar energy systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructure assistance to qualifying Richmond homeowners. The program is funded by the City of Richmond and the State of California. The goal is to install 130 solar systems per year through 2025 and you could be a recipient of this no-cost program.

The City of Richmond in partnership with GRID Alternatives invites eligible Richmond and North Richmond residents to join the City’s annual sign-up workshop on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 with doors opening at 5:30PM and presentation at 6:00PM, in the City Council Chambers at 440 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond, CA. At this in-person workshop, the City and GRID Alternatives staff members will do an overview of the no-cost program, go over program eligibility, and answer any questions.

If interested in signing-up for the program, please bring a copy of your 2024 tax return and your June 2025 utility bill.

GRID Alternatives is a national non-profit organization that makes solar energy accessible to those who need the savings the most. Participants will save money on their electric bill with no-cost solar and even more when paired with an electric vehicle and future electrification technology.
