About this Event
❄️ Winter Wonders: A School Garden Experience for K–5 Students ❄️
📍 Hosted at our scenic farm in Tiskilwa, Illinois
Bundle up and join us for a magical winter day on the farm! This outdoor nature study event is designed just for Kindergarten through 5th-grade students and offers a hands-on, heartwarming adventure through the quiet beauty of the winter season.
Each child will receive their own Seasons Journal — a Charlotte Mason-inspired, beautifully illustrated nature journal with over 200 pages of engaging activities and learning tools to continue exploring nature all season long.
🐾 What We'll Explore This Winter:
- Winter Trees – Discover how trees rest and protect themselves in the cold
- Hibernation – Learn where animals go and how they survive the winter
- Winter Birds – Observe feathered friends that stay through the season
- Wintry Weather – Track snow, frost, and the signs of the season
- The Winter Night Sky – Find constellations and the beauty of long nights
- Foraging in the Winter Woods – Learn what nature still offers, even in the cold
🍎 What's Included:
- A guided nature hike through our snowy trails
- A tour of our winter market garden and how we care for the land year-round
- Art supplies to decorate and begin your child's nature journal
- Time to explore, sketch, ask questions, and connect with the natural world
